A Geological Hiking Map of the Syöte Area Is Now Available

The Geological Survey of Finland (GTK) has produced a geological hiking map of the Syöte area and a related guide book. The map covers most of Syöte National Park as well as the Iso-Syöte, Pikku-Syöte, and adjoining areas. The hiking map extends from the Pytkynharju and Naamankaharju Eskers in the south to Lake Kouvanjärvi in the north. In addition to being geologically very diverse, the area has many fascinating natural attractions. The map and the guide book are aimed primarily at hikers and others who are interested in the wilderness and the natural history of the area. They can also be used as nature-related teaching material and as a basis for diversifying the provision of tourist services, especially during the summer season.
