Chairman of the Board Göran Persson and CEO Gunnar Olofsson focussed on the future potential of forest in their speeches at Sveaskog's annual general meeting on 23 April. Mats G Ringesten was appointed as a new member of the board.
"We will see an increase in productivity and new applications for forest products over the coming years. Sveaskog will play a leading role in this development," says Göran Persson, Chairman of the Board, Sveaskog.
"Sveaskog is adjusting costs to suit the expected reduction in saw log and pulpwood sales during 2009. At the same time we are aiming to strengthen our position through increased effectiveness, business development and sustainable solutions across the field of operations," says Gunnar Olofsson, CEO, Sveaskog.
The following board members were re-elected during the annual general meeting, which was held at the Concert Hall in Stockholm: Göran Persson (chairman), Eva Färnstrand, Thomas Hahn, Birgitta Johansson-Hedberg, Patrik Jönsson, Christina Liffner and Anna-Stina Nordmark Nilsson.
Mats G Ringesten is a new board member. He was previously a member of the Vin & Sprit board, and has held leading positions at Volvo, Procordia and Shell.
The annual general meeting approved a dividend payment of SEK 88.7 million, which equates to SEK 0.75 per share.
