Sveaskog's AGM on Wednesday 21 April approved a dividend payment of SEK 486 million for 2009. Göran Persson was re-elected as chairman of the board, and three new board members were elected: Marianne Förander, Carina Håkansson and Elisabeth Nilsson.
Sveaskog's Annual General Meeting, held at Stockholm Concert Hall, approved a dividend payment of SEK 486 million, which equates to SEK 4.11 per share.
The following board members were re-elected during the AGM: Göran Persson (chairman), Eva Färnstrand, Thomas Hahn, Birgitta Johansson-Hedberg, Anna-Stina Nordmark Nilsson and Mats G Ringesten.
Marianne Förander, Deputy Director at the Ministry of Enterprise, Energy and Communications, Carina Håkansson, CEO Dala Kraft and Elisabeth Nilsson, CEO Jernkontoret, were elected to the board as new members.
In his speech, Sveaskog CEO, Gunnar Olofsson, told of how the company had jumped between throttle and brake to manoeuvre its way through the recession - with good results.
"In 2009, our turnover decreased by 17 per cent whereas profits increased by 24 per cent. I see it as a strength that Sveaskog can handle such violent swings in the market and achieve such a good result," says Gunnar Olofsson, CEO for Sveaskog.
