Between 26 and 29 October, an EU film crew visited Växjö to make a motivation film concerning combining environmental goals with profitable forestry.
Sveaskog was previously featured in a film called "One Degree Matters" which depicted Swedish forestry.
"One Degree Matters" was filmed last autumn around Växjö under the supervision of Fredrik Klang, production manager for Sveaskog in Götaland. Fredrik Klang also hosted operations when the three man EU team was actually filming.
"Film making is not exactly an everyday occurrence for us, but of course we accommodate and help the film team with ideas and by setting up scenes and suggesting suitable locations. We are proud to be taken as an exemplary model even if in this instance we are, of course, representing Swedish forestry at large," says Fredrik Klang.
The European Environment Agency (EEA) is the producer of the film which was made in October. The purpose is to make a film that will motivate forest owners to run sustainable forestry.
Over the coming years, the EEA is going to make 50 motivation films in each of the EU member states, and in Sweden's case a model for running sustainable forestry was chosen as an example for other countries to follow.
The filming took place around Växjö, and the film will be finalised in December this year; thereafter it will be available on the EEA website for downloading and use.
